Painting with Fibers

Create a landscape or still life with felt and other fibres using wet and dry felting techniques.
On day 1, participants will create their “canvas” using a “prefelt” as  background adding different colours of wool roving onto the background to produce the general forms for their work.
On day 2, participants will do needle felting and simple stitching (by hand or machine) for detail.

List of material:

Instructor brings:
prefelts; a wide selection of wool roving,
some embellishments (including embroidery floss),
felting needles, 10” x 10” – 2” thick felting sponge,
bubble wrap, painter’s plastic, netting,
pool noodles, felting stones, sewing machines (2)

Participants must bring:
wooden roller (broom handle width),
embroidery floss, wool yarn, embroidery needles,
wool roving (if you have any),
sewing machine (optional),
old towels.
