News » Fundraising Party and Silent Art Auction a Successful PAA Fundraising Event
Portage-du-Fort, April 16, 2012 :: Saturday night was a night of good will and a great party. The success of the event depended on the generosity of the artists, and the Pontiac artists did not fall short. Twenty-nine works were donated to be auctioned for the benefit of the PAA. We are deeply aware of the value and importance of their donation, and are grateful for their participation. Twenty-nine homes will now be enjoying art produced by Pontiac artists.
Also importantly, the members of the bands donated their time and talents to further enrich the experience. Hollis and Kate Morgan, Alrick and Roberta Huebener, and Richard Vezeau make up the band, “Hurry Up and Wait” and the duo, “Kate and Hollis”. Phillip Holmes contributed to the excitement of the evening as well.
Thanks go also to the coordinator Val Bridgeman and her committee (Chantal Auger, Rosemary Driscoll, and Carol Howard-Killoran), and the gang of volunteers who worked at every phase of the preparations. It took many generous and hardworking people, most of whom are the same artists that donated to the event, to make it happen.
Donations of door prizes were also generously offered as well as profits from the special coffee bought at the event. Thanks to the distributors of the tickets; we needed you. Finally, thanks to the numerous art lovers who came and participated generously in the auction and enjoyed the party. Thanks to you all!
