Art Pontiac is a non-profit organization whose rich history goes back to over three decades.
This organization has and does play a pivotal role in the arts and culture movement in the Pontiac region. Art Pontiac is so much more than a name.
The seed was planted by a group of creatives who cultivated and nourished it. It then blossomed into many petals, forming a wonderful plant with flowers of brilliant colour.
The root system is the community who support us through donations, sponsorships, and patronage. Without their support we would not thrive.
The stem is The Gallery in the School where incredible talent is displayed for the world to enjoy and where new and seasoned artists can showcase who they are, their skills and their journeys. This is where artists bloom.
The leaves are the Stone School Gift Shop. This is where artisans display their craft and where patrons can share in the love that is poured into those crafts. Everything from pottery, glass, metal, stone and wood works, painting, knitting, crocheting, bead work, sewing, candle and soap making, basket weaving or sculptures. The creative list has no limitation here.
The petals are the volunteers who provide the sun, the water, and the nourishment for this plant. They are an invaluable source of support.
The center of the plant…. the Pontiac School of the Arts. This is where ArtPontiac gives back to the community with networking, workshops, carefully designed courses, opportunities for artists to teach what they love and to cultivate their own paths and where inclusivity is paramount to its success. This is the heart of the plant that pulses and carries a message of positive energy and the seeds of creation.
