April’s Artist of The Month

Art Pontiac’s Artist of The Month for April

Water Colour By Robin Knox

Robin Knox

Every artist brings pieces of their life into their work. For Robin Knox, that means creativity, compassion, and a deep love of animals, nature, and the quiet moments that shape everyday life.

Born in Burlington, Ontario and now based in the Ottawa Valley, Robin is an accomplished painter whose technically strong, emotionally resonant work has earned awards and an early nomination for Artist of the Year. Her paintings capture character, mood, and feeling with remarkable sensitivity. Her work can be seen at the Deep River Artisans Valley Group Gallery and as part of the Spectrum of Love exhibition at Art Pontiac Gallery.

Robin’s 47-year career in medical technology reflects the same patience, precision, and care found in her artistic practice. She also teaches weekly watercolour classes to seniors in Pembroke, where she generously shares her knowledge and encourages others to discover their own creative voice.

Outside the studio, Robin finds joy and inspiration in family life and time spent with her beloved pets—elements that quietly influence the warmth and authenticity of her work.

In this interview, we explore Robin’s artistic journey, the influences that shape her work, and the thoughtful process behind her paintings.

We are proud to celebrate Robin Knox as Art Pontiac’s Artist of the Month for April.
