To encounter firsthand the power of returning light as experienced in northern Canada, was a powerful moment with profound consequences to my painting practice. The clarity of vision, the intensity of colour was striking as the sun revealed the snow-covered rocky landscape. As daylight lengthens, the sun reaches higher in the sky, a new energy, a new vision emerged.
