Jon Stewart is a marketing executive and small business owner. A native of the Pontiac with deep ancestral roots on Calumet Island, he is the founder of Calumet Media, where he helps local businesses and organizations navigate digital transformation.
In late 2024, Jon took a landmark step in preserving local journalism by acquiring The Equity, Shawville’s historic weekly newspaper founded in 1883, along with the Pontiac Printshop. As the owner, he is dedicated to honoring the paper’s 140-year legacy while modernizing its digital reach to ensure the Pontiac remains connected and informed.
Beyond the media world, Jon is an avid astrophotographer based in the dark-sky haven of Otter Lake. Combining technical precision with artistic vision, he captures the celestial beauty of the Gatineau Hills, documenting the deep-space wonders visible from one of the region’s most pristine natural landscapes.
