Realism, sometimes called naturalism, in the arts is generally the attempt to represent subject matter truthfully, without artificiality and avoiding artistic conventions, or implausible, exotic, and supernatural elements. Art by L came about from a drawing she did for a local Shawville Fair expo. The pencil sketch was of her neighbor’s cow “Maplehodge Epic Briscoe”. The response received from the drawing encouraged her to sell prints and Art by L was formed.
July 2021 a letter of appreciation came from Her Majesty the Queen in response to a print of a pencil sketch Leah did of Prince Philip. This further encouraged her to pursue her passion and expand into exhibiting at shows.
