The New Canvas: Exploring the World of Digital Art for Traditional & New Artists

Overview:  This is a workshop designed to introduce artists to the possibilities of creating art on a computer.  The workshop will cover a range of topics, including the different art-making tools available on the laptop, how to use them effectively, and how to incorporate traditional techniques and materials into digital artwork.  Participants will have the opportunity to experiment with different apps and tools, explore the potential of the laptop as a canvas, and learn from experienced artists who have successfully made the transition to digital art.  This workshop is open to artists of all skill levels, and will provide a supportive and collaborative environment for participants to develop their skills and explore new avenues of creativity.

Materials to Bring:

  • Mac or PC laptop
  • Krita app pre-installed prior to class https://krita.org/(there is no cost to buy this app online)

NOTE:  Some tablets and laptops may be available – please email artschool@artpontiac.com if you need one – an additional fee may apply to be paid directly to the instructor.
