July 29-August 21
Diverse artists promoting turtle conservation
All species of turtles in the Outaouais/Ottawa valley watershed are deemed at risk; threatened by habitat loss, accidents, predators, climate change, and sometimes deliberate cruelty. Turtles are mute and we, as artists, must speak for them in calling for the sustainability of the wetlands and forested areas they inhabit.
28 artists will exhibit their artworks along with local conservation groups and field naturalists who will contribute posters, educational material and speakers. On August 6, there will be a free family Workshop,, “Turtlemania”, from 10-12 am, preceded by a chance to meet some real turtles from Ray’s Reptiles, starting at 9 am.
