Watercolour on synthetic paper is a cutting edge technique to using ground mineral based watercolour paints. We will explore the basics of this technique, culminating in a 16 × 20 finished piece of work that is wholly unique and truly beautiful. The non-porous surface of the paper means we will be essentially manipulating the water and paint on the paper surface, revealing an ever-changing image as the water evaporates. We will begin with bookmarks, move onto 8 × 10 sheets, and then tackle a 16 × 20 sheet, unless, of course, you’re more comfortable with the smaller size paper. This is a beginner level exploration course that can accommodate up to 15 people. Proceeds will benefit The Art For Aid Project’s efforts to put art supplies into remote Indigenous schools in Canada.
